Who We Are
The Scholarly Writing Skills Center has been established with a background and a number of objectives. Actually the university graduates and young teachers both need research and academic writing skills for their academic achievement and publications.
It is a common observation and experience that the university graduates and young university teachers in ESL contexts lack research writing skills. Therefore, when they are obliged to do research and write for their academic progress and publications, they find their writing skills inadequate. Thus they cannot proceed with confidence. Their inadequacy and diffidence stay in their path as an unsurpassable barrier.
With this background in mind, the administrator, who himself has served as a professor of English Language Education for a long time, consulted with his colleagues and experts for the establishment of this center and fixing objectives to impart various skills related to research writing and academic writing skills required to write research articles and theses.
Our Mission
Our mission is to support and enable learning writers, young university faculty members and workplace writers to produce their research and other documents as per the quality benchmarks and expectations of the reviewers of their documents. We design, develop and deliver research-informed short courses, workshops and blogposts in the areas of academic, professional, literary writing. Further, we deliver short courses and workshops keeping in view the needs and levels of the learning writers, faculty members and workplace writers.
All this is achieved by employing the expertise held in SWSC. We always welcome to the young university faculty, learning writers and workplace writers seeking to engage with a high quality of research and other types of writing. We deliver our mission through affordable course provision; the course delivery that is flexible as well as according to the prior achievement level of the learners and with an environment where peer learning has great role.
