Writing Workshops
For supporting learning writers, writing workshops are given especially keeping in view the skills, fluency and efficacy of the writers. The delivery of workshops is based on the mode of learning based on the process composed of three stages: noticing, nesting (understanding) and using. The learners feel comfort when they are made to proceed step by step. Further, the learners are given feedback and support to move ahead. Furthermore, workshops are given to equip learning writers with skills related to sentence structure and linkages, text, discourse, meta-discourse, etc. As a result, the learning writers learn how to describe, narrate, convince, persuade and inform their audience.
Classroom Platform
The courses are offered through a classroom platform available on this site. The users/course participants can join/log in this platform for attending online classes where the resource person makes announcements, provides teaching and learning materials, presents topics, engages the participants in classroom activities whether these are synchronous or asynchronous. In addition, live chat, quiz, open discussion, assignment writing as well as submission, and giving/receiving feedback, evaluation and assessment activities, etc., are the classroom activities.
The team of this center also provides the novice writers with the services of language editing and proof reading. It is not only that the manuscripts submitted by the scholars are edited and proof read for language correction, they are also upgraded in terms of academic register and style. When the manuscripts are edited, the changes are tracked (if required) for the writers and at places sticky notes are added for their updating. If need arises, the writers are given access to the editor for discussing their difficulties pertained to the linguistic expressions.
